Here's Mickey by SailorUsagi1 Here's Mickey by SailorUsagi1
This is my first of I hope many Mickey drawings! I love the classic Mickey! He is so cute! I guess I like the classic Mickey because the Animaniacs have that similiar "old toon" look which I find SO appealing!

D'aww! I love old Mickey Mouse. =P Even if the Warners seem to hate him. I wonder why in later times his white face became beige..? Definite :+fav:

In the early days of Mickey, his face was white to mimic minstrel performers (I had read that somewhere) As times changed and color cartoons were being produced, Mickey's eyes, ears, as well as his face color changed too. (I don't think the white color transitioned to well with color cartoons anymore.) Thanks for the fave! Check out my :iconminnie-mousegirl: page. It has mainly photos of Mickey and the gang there.

Mickey was my hero when I was very little. I could never get enough of him. Today, I have other Disney heroes, but I still love Mickey.

You did a terrific job designing him! Awesome work! :highfive:

WoW! Thanks! But even as I look at this drawing...he looks stiff to me. I have another drawing of him hugging Minnie which I am dying to color and post....but alas!!!! The more I draw a character, the more flexible it becomes. That is why my Animanaics drawings look better because I drew so many of them. Now it's Mickey's turn!

Great job! Of course, after seeing your Animaniacs pics and now this, I can't help but remember the "Wakky Mouse" drawing that was up on the wall at WB Animation in the mid-1990s...

It had Minnie Mouse on her knees, tugging at Wakko Warner's shirt, pleading, "I want to have your baby!!!" The bottom corner had an inset of their offspring, Wakky Mouse. He had one round ear and one "Warner" ear. Otherwise his face was rather similar to the Animaniacs prototype character Wakky -- the youngest of the Warner brothers Yakky, Smakky and Wakky.

The illustrious mouse hmself, as promised. And in all his innocent glory.

I'm not sure if you know, but he was the first ever animation to grace world television.

Yes, I love the antique simplicity of it. No shadowing and all the sophisticated stuff cartoons have today. But unfortunately, it was Felix the Cat whose image was first used as a testing picture for the first television screen which was invented. Felix COULD make a great comeback if he had a good agent...
